Kala Philo formed Walkie Talkie Productions to combine her love of the visual and digital world with a passion for location shooting and travel. Her passion is creating films of authenticity that illustrate the granularity of communities and businesses all over the world.

Recent projects include creative marketing shorts, video curriculum with a documentary "feel", web video for business, and flash streaming video expertise.

Kala holds an honors degree in marketing and statistics from the University of Texas at Austin and was the founder of WebCogent, a web services company, in 1996. Her background in web development is a great fit for bringing video to the web for her clients. A continuing obsession with the cello as an adult student provides daily lessons in patience and being present to the moment.

Kala's community involvements include serving on the Advisory Board for PeopleFund, media consulting for Austin's Community Partnership for the Homeless, Board Member for 400 Voices and the McCallum High School Fine Arts Academy Orchestra Board, and co-chair of the Sports Parents Committee at the Girls' School of Austin.
