Kala Philo formed Walkie Talkie Productions to create authentic visual stories that portray the granularity of communities and businesses everywhere. Kala holds an honors degree in marketing and statistics from the University of Texas at Austin and was the founder of WebCogent, a web services company, in 1996. Her background in web development is a great fit for bringing video to the web for her clients.


Kala's community involvements include serving as on the Advisory Board for PeopleFund, social media consulting for Austin's GreenDoors.org, a supportive housing organization for the homeless, McCallum High School Fine Arts Academy Orchestra Board, and active parent volunteer with the Girls' School of Austin.


Her life long interest in community and global issues led her to found Austin's first Social Business discussion group (see works of Dr. Yunus). She is a founding member of the Austin Microfinance Network and a founder and current Community Engagement Lead for the Austin Social Entrepreneur Network.
