Kala Philo formed Walkie Talkie Productions to create authentic visual stories that illustrate the granularity of communities and businesses everywhere. Kala holds an honors degree in marketing and statistics from the University of Texas at Austin and was the founder of WebCogent, a web services company, in 1996. Her background in web development is a great fit for bringing video to the web for her clients.


Kala's community involvements include serving on the Advisory Board for PeopleFund, social media consulting for Austin's GreenDoors.org, a supportive housing organization for the homeless, McCallum High School Fine Arts Academy Orchestra Board, and active parent volunteer with the Girls' School of Austin.


She is interested in all things Yunus and was the founding member of Austin's Social Business Discussion Group and a founding member of the Austin Microfinance Advocacy Group. A continuing obsession with the cello as an adult student provides daily lessons in patience and being present to the moment.
